about the project

One day to pre-light, one shoot day, and one de-rig day on this beauty commercial. The DP mentioned wanting to bring glow to the skin and sheen to the hair of our models so we opted to go with a mix of softboxes and harder sources to achieve this look. We skinned all units with 1/2 soft frost for this slight bloom and a touch of hardness for the sheen. We had a 12x12 softbox and a 20x20 softbox, both build with Modulus-X and pipe. 12x12 contained 8x Vortex 8's and the 20x20 contained 4x S360's. Briese on a max menace helped provide our frontal key for talent.

Built the frame out of 6” ModX and the carriage frame attachment out of 9” ModX. 6’ vertical of tower provided the high connection points for come alongs that ran out to the frame corners.

Rigged the center of gravity as far toward the back of the bucket without interfering with any bucket tilt capabilities in order to help with adjusted weight.
