about the project

Fun colorful spot for a Mexican fast food company. If you watch football I'm sure you've seen this spot on air. We had multiple setups on stage that all worke dunder our 20x20 overhead softbox. Set lighting wanted to add downlights for the restaurant tables so we opted not to wrap the softbox with the rag so we could keep the bottom rails exposed for rigging their lights. We hard mounted the lights to the grid and constructed a 20x20 softbox skeleton to lift up around them. We used magic cloth for diffusion and black tablecloth material for the sides to keep everything lightweight. We employed the use of a ground key on a max menace and shaped up some more ambiance from floor frames in other instances. Set lighting used some G6's with Leko attachments to get granular with food photography. Additionally we used the CRLS C Drive kit to reflect other lighting units onto the food to precisely shape the food shots. Camera movement consisted mainly of steadicam but we also utilized a Fisher Model 10 dolly with a 4' slider for rolling sticks and a probe shot.
