Rig Breakdown
Streetbike Rialto Rig
about the rig
Rialto rigged to a street bike with a Venice body. In any motorcycle rig the two big concerns are center of gravity and counterbalance. This rig placed the Rialto low and counterbalanced the camera overhand with the Venice body on the opposite side. The core structure was built with M3FX truss. This truss was hard mounted to the top of the rear seat with a cheeseplate and bolts. We added additional truss triangulation to another hard point under the seat. We utlized 3/8 bolts and metric to SAE adaptors for these connection points. We triangulated the camera position with speedrail and rigged the camera dovetail right to the cheeseplate for maximum stability. Once we found the camera angle we were able to lock the cheeseplate in and avoid the need for a dish leveling head or a mini ball leveling head, which saved on weight and any possibility of shifting. Additional points were integraeted along the side of the bike for potential future mounts.
